This self -promotion for Paul Kocak, Kocak Wordsmith Ink, was designed to grab attention. Paul gave me the words and asked me to find the right graphics to bring attention to his skills. Technical writing is difficult to illustrate, so I decided to grab the readers attention with something out of the ordinary. Paul has received great feedback and has already reprinted this piece we designed in July of ’09.

Here are some photos of the wedding invitations I designed for our daughter’s wedding, for those who didn’t get to see them…

They were printed by Taylor Copy/Consta’s Printing on Burnet Avenue in Syracuse, New York. Diane and Nick did a wonderful job assisting me in the large project of all the coordinating pieces. Besides the four pieces, three backer cards, and two envelopes for the invitation, we also did wedding programs, table numbers with photos, and favor cards. They even shipped part of the job to Indiana for me so I didn’t have to pack them!

The programs was printed in Syracuse – I designed the inside and had them printed in Indiana at the local Kinkos the week of the wedding.

These are the table numbers – we had photos of the bride and groom on the back.

This was designed for an environmental company in Canastota, New York. It is a large 72 inch x 48 inch table top display for conference use. It folds in slightly at the black lines on each side, and lights attach to the top. The colors are crisp and the set up is quick and material light weight for easy storage and transportation. The client was very happy.

This logo was designed in 2006 for a Regional Women’s Business organization Women TIES. I was asked to create an elegant, but feminine design to represent women in business networking together to build their businesses. We knew we wanted it to be a one color logo, but I was able to give the impression of two color with screens of the pink. It has been a very successful logo for the owner, Tracy Higginbotham.

This is an advertisement for a website I designed recently www.careerscny.com. I used similar designs for a convention banner, a postcard and an email insert.

This design is a visual reminder to me of God’s grace – the original photo is a bucket of rusty water (reminds me of our lives) …seeing God’s name in the bucket reminds me of God’s control in my life, just like I controlled the colors in this photo…He’s in charge – Thankfully!

This is one of the most enjoyable logos I designed in 2008. Maureens Hope Foundation services cancer patients. When I’m asked to design a logo I prefer to meet with the client face to face and hear the passion behind the company, see the emotion and understand the reason the business exist from the heart of the founder. It is much easier to design when I can understand the history and the future. We also discussed the colors, the uses of the logo, and the specific design elements she was looking for in the finished product. Designing a logo takes more than working on a sketch pad and computer, it begins by developing a bond with the client to understand how to best develop a brand to represent their future.

I’m Chris, and just started up a blog about table top displays, and other stuff to do with trade show displays. I ran across your site while searching for table top displays. Funny how Google works sometimes.
